What You Will Need To Get Started

  • ID (driver’s license or passport and social security number).
  • Employment verification (employer’s contact info)· Income verification (pay stubs, W-2 forms,  the most recent 2 years of tax returns).
  • Assets (most recent 2 months of bank statements for checking and savings, documentation of investments,  and retirement accounts). If you are purchasing a home, the source of the down payment and closing cost funds must be documented. So be sure and include this information!
  • Liabilities (list of outstanding debts like mortgage, car, student loans).
  • Residential history (current real estate holdings, rental history).
  • A gift letter if you have a family member contributing to down payment.
  • If you are buying a house, be sure and keep copies of the executed contract and a copy of the earnest money check and a receipt for that check. If real estate agents are involved, please provide their names and contact information.
  • If you are relying on alimony or child support payments, please include a copy of the divorce decree that specifies those amounts.
  • If you are relying on Social Security Income (including any Disability Income) please provide a copy of the Awards Letter. This is provided once a year by the Social Security Department. If you can't locate the most recent one, you can go to their website and retrieve a copy.
